Intro
I recently flew with China Airlines on a two-leg journey from Singapore to Taipei and Frankfurt.
The airline impressed with its commitment to providing a comfortable and pleasant travel experience.
China Airlines provided excellent service on this trip. From seamless connections to satisfying inflight meals, it was an enjoyable travel experience.
What was great
Attentive and professional cabin crew
Generous meal portions with high-quality dishes
Wasn’t so great
Limited snack selection between meals
Singapore to Taipei
The four-hour flight from Singapore to Taipei began with a drinks service starting 20 minutes after takeoff.
I opted for a soft drink with mixed nuts.
Interestingly, the duty-free service was conducted before the meal service, which effectively engaged passengers.
About an hour into the flight, meal service began. Without printed menus, the choices were straightforward: chicken with rice or a fish option.
I went with the chicken, which was served alongside a fresh salad, cut fruit, and dessert.
For such a short flight, the meal tray was impressively generous, offering a substantial amount of food

The cabin crew maintained a visible and attentive presence throughout the meal service, offering wine, water, and tea/coffee to accompany the meal.
The entire service wrapped up about 1 hour and 45 minutes after takeoff.
Taipei to Frankfurt
The 13-hour overnight flight to Frankfurt on an Airbus A350 was lightly loaded, allowing me the luxury of an entire row.
Soon after takeoff, the crew offered water and juices, followed by meal service.
The inflight menu was displayed on the cartโa thoughtful touch. I chose the chicken dish with salad, cut fruit, and a sweet biscuit.
Beverages, including wine, tea, and coffee, were also offered.
The meal service was completed efficiently within 1.5 hours of departure. Lights were then dimmed, allowing passengers to rest.
Snacks and drinks were available in the galley during the flight, though the selection was limited to crackers and nuts.
The second meal service started about three hours before landing.
Breakfast options included a Western-style frittata or Asian chicken fried rice. I chose the fried rice served with yogurt and fresh fruit.
The meal was flavourful and a satisfying end to the flight.
Conclusion
My experience with China Airlines was very positive. The cabin crew were consistently attentive, professional, and efficient.
The meals were generous and well-prepared.
Despite the limited snack options, the inflight experience was comfortable and reliable, making my long-haul journey enjoyable.
