INTRODUCTION

On a recent trip, I flew with China Airlines from Singapore to Taipei, and then onward to Frankfurt.

China Airlines provided an impressive travel experience on my recent flights from Singapore to Taipei and onward to Frankfurt.

From the moment I boarded, the airline demonstrated a commitment to passenger comfort and service excellence.

SINGAPORE TO TAIPEI

The flight from Singapore to Taipei was scheduled for four hours.

About 20 minutes after takeoff, the drinks service began, offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

I chose a soft drink, accompanied by some mixed nuts. Interestingly, the duty-free carts made an early appearance, rolling into the cabin soon after the drinks were served.

Typically, duty-free service follows the meal, but this timing seemed to work well, engaging passengers and boosting inflight sales.

One hour into the flight, the meal service started. Without inflight menus, the choices were straightforward: chicken with rice or a fish option. I opted for the chicken.

The meal was generous, featuring a substantial main dish, a dessert, freshly cut fruit, and a side salad.

Post-meal, the cabin crew offered additional beverages, including red and white wine, followed by a water, tea, and coffee service.

The crew remained attentive and visible throughout the meal service, which concluded approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes after takeoff.

TAIPEI TO FRANKFURT

Later that evening, I boarded a 13-hour flight to Frankfurt on the airline’s Airbus A350. With a light passenger load, I enjoyed the comfort of having an entire row to myself.

Twenty minutes after takeoff, the crew began service with water and juices. Ten minutes later, the meal carts appeared, starting in premium economy before moving to economy class.

The inflight menu was displayed on the cart, a convenient touch.

I chose the chicken dish, served with a salad, cut fruit, and a sweet biscuit. Additional beverages, including water, wine, and tea/coffee, were offered by hand.

The meal service concluded about 1.5 hours after takeoff, after which the cabin lights were dimmed, allowing passengers to rest.

Between meal services, snacks and drinks were available in the galley, though the selection was limited to crackers and nuts.

The second meal service began about 2 hours and 50 minutes before landing and took 40 minutes to complete.

This service started with hot towels, followed by the meal and a tea/coffee service.

Breakfast options included a Western frittata or an Asian chicken fried rice. I chose the fried rice, served with yogurt and fresh fruit, which was particularly enjoyable.

CONCLUSION

Overall, my experience with China Airlines was positive.

The cabin crew were attentive and professional, ensuring a smooth and pleasant journey.

From the efficient service timing to the quality of meals, the airline provided a reliable and comfortable travel experience, making my journey to Frankfurt enjoyable and hassle-free.
