Intro

Paying โ‚ฌ60 to access Air France’s lounge at Paris CDG Terminal 2F?

Sometimes you wonder if airlines slap premium prices on mediocre experiences and hope nobody notices.

This 3,000mยฒ space serves 3,000 passengers daily across two levels, but I got behind the scenes to see what you’re really getting for that โ‚ฌ60 entry fee (or 12,000 miles if you prefer).

Open 05:30 to 22:00 daily for Business, La Premiรจre passengers, as well as Flying Blue Platinum/Gold and SkyTeam Elite Plus members.

Everyone else pays up or stays out.

The Space

Designed by Jouin Manku agency, the ground floor targets passengers with short connections – express food, detox areas with herbal teas, fresh fruit, and rest zones.

The designers thought about passenger flow instead of just making it look pretty.

Two levels spread across 3,000mยฒ means it doesn’t feel cramped even with 3,000 passengers daily.

It works efficiently when you’re rushing to make connections.

UPSTAIRS

Head up the staircase and you’ll find more dining options plus a Clarins Day Spa offering complimentary 20-minute face treatments.

Nice touch if you’ve got time to spare and want to relax after a long flight.

The upper level feels less rushed than downstairs – better for longer layovers when you want to relax.

EXECUTIVE AREA

The Executive Area is reserved for Ultimate Flying Blue members. It’s an intimate setting with food options, a private office, and a conference room.

Bistro

The highlight of the lounge is Le Comptoir “Bistro” on the ground floor, featuring the iconic 1930s seahorse logo.

Air France collaborates with Servair corporate chef Franรงois Adamski (Bocuse d’Or winner) and Top Chef winner Chloรฉ Charles for seasonal menus that change every three months.

During my September 2022 visit, the offerings included smoked shrimp with a tangy sauce, spiced lamb shoulder, and Camargue rice seasoned with West Indian spices.

The food quality matched the chef credentials.

Desserts featured French tarts, madeleines, and chocolate mousse served in edible cups.

Sustainability

Air France minimises food waste by repurposing leftover breakfast croissants into Croque Monsieur croissants for lunch service.

The lounge uses water fountains instead of small bottles, saving an estimated 3 million bottles annually.

Food containers are made from eco-friendly cellulose and bagasse, while meat, dairy, eggs, bread, and pastries are sourced from local French suppliers.

These environmental initiatives maintain service quality while reducing waste.

Conclusion

Air France’s Terminal 2F lounge justifies the โ‚ฌ60 entry fee, offering high-quality food, partnerships, and an efficient design.

The chef collaborations with Franรงois Adamski and Chloรฉ Charles deliver genuine culinary experiences.

The two-level layout works well for different passenger needs – ground floor for quick connections, upstairs for longer layovers.

Worth the cost? Yes, especially for layovers over two hours.

The food quality and champagne service exceed typical lounge standards.

Business and premium passengers get this included, while others should consider the 12,000 miles option if available.

The combination of proper dining, spa services, and efficient layout makes this a genuine airport retreat rather than just a waiting area.

Thanks to Air France for hosting me and providing behind-the-scenes access to their Terminal 2F lounge.
