Air France prioritises locally sourced cuisine, offering French meat, poultry, dairy, and baked goods, along with sustainably-sourced fish on all flights ex Paris. For those heading to Paris, the focus shifts to local and seasonal products.

Does Air France provide complimentary meals for children?

For passengers with children, Air France simplifies travel by providing complimentary and organic kids’ and infant meals. Here’s what’s on offer for the young flyers and how to ensure they’re part of your family’s flight experience.

Kids’ Meals

Children aged 2 to 6 will automatically receive an organic kids’ meal. If your child is between 7 and 11, an adult meal will be offered.

However, a kid-friendly organic meal can be arranged upon request. Just ensure you order it at least 24 hours before departure.

On a recent flight to New York with Air France, the children’s menu was a delightful surprise, boasting a variety of options including bread, juice, apple concentrate, biscuits, yogurt, butter, and jam, with multiple meal choices also available.

Come lunchtime, the offerings were just as appealing with a fresh side salad, cheese, a pre-packaged Madeleine, more juice, and apple concentrate.

The standout ‘Parmentier de poulet’ added a delicious French flair to the familiar comfort of a cottage pie. The assortment provided is both generous and thoughtfully curated to please the palates of young travelers.

Infant Meals

Traveling with an infant? Air France has you covered with soft toys and organic food products for the tiniest passengers.

For infants aged 0 to 23 months, parents can pre-order a meal with organic sweet and savoury jars and baby cookies 48 hours before departure.

Inflight Tips for Parents

Engagement: Keep kids entertained with their very own activity kits or the variety of in-flight entertainment options. Air France also provides a wide range of children’s inflight entertainment.

Pack Snacks and Familiar Foods: Even with inflight meals, having a selection of your child’s favorite snacks can be a lifesaver, especially for long-haul flights.

Choose snacks that are less messy and comply with security regulations. Snacks like dried fruit, crackers, and cereal bars can provide comfort and a taste of home at 30,000 feet.

Hydration is Key: Cabin air can be dry, and kids may not always recognize when they’re thirsty. Pack a refillable water bottle to keep your child hydrated throughout the flight.
