THE SPACE
Designed by the Jouin Manku agency, founded by Canadian architect Sanjit Manku and French designer Patrick Jouin, this lounge boasts a unique style that caters to a range of passenger needs.
The ground floor is designed for those with short connections, offering express food options, detox and zen areas with herbal teas, fresh fruit, and a rest area for relaxation between flights.
UPSTAIRS
Ascending the grand staircase to the upper level reveals more substantial dining options, a Clarins Day Spa, and complimentary 20-minute face treatments.
This space enhances the travel experience with a touch of luxury and well-being.
EXECUTIVE AREA
The Executive Area, reserved for Ultimate Flying Blue members, provides an intimate setting for top frequent flyers.
This exclusive area features unique food options, a private office, and a dedicated conference room, ensuring privacy and premium service.
THE BISTRO
The highlight of the lounge is undoubtedly Le Comptoir “Bistro,” located on the ground floor and adorned with the iconic sea horse logo from the 1930s.
In July, Air France collaborated with Servair corporate chef Franรงois Adamski, a Bocuse d’Or and Meilleur Ouvrier de France winner, and Top Chef winner Chloรฉ Charles. Together, they crafted a seasonal menu of hot dishes, including a vegetarian option, changing every three months.
As a fortunate invitee, I experienced the September 2022 menu firsthand.
The offerings included smoked shrimp with tangy sauce and seasonal vegetables by Franรงois Adamski, shoulder of lamb with spices, reduced juice, and semolina with candied vegetables by Franรงois Adamski, and Camargue rice sautรฉed and flavored with West Indian spices and spring vegetable brunoise by Chloรฉ Charles.
The dessert selection was quintessentially French, featuring tarts, madeleines, baked goods, and chocolate mousse served in edible cups.
The Champagne cart, managed daily by Air France lounge staff, added a personal touch to the service.
Paolo Basso, the worldโs best sommelier in 2013, curated a stunning collection of wine and champagne for passengers.
SUSTAINABILITY
Air France is committed to sustainability, minimizing food waste by creatively repurposing ingredients.
For example, leftover croissants from breakfast are transformed into delicious Croque monsieur croissants for lunch.
The lounge also limits single-use plastics by providing water fountains, saving an estimated 3 million small bottles annually.
Food containers are made from eco-friendly cellulose and bagasse, while meat, dairy, eggs, bread, and pastries are sourced from local French suppliers.
DUCASSE PARIS
In the long-haul lounges at Terminal 2E (halls K, L, and M), passengers can enjoy signature dishes from the renowned Ducasse Paris, including the plant-based burger, Burgal.
Curated wine lists and carefully crafted dishes enhance the dining experience in these lounges.
Thanks to Air France for the invite and the behind-the-scenes look at their Paris lounge!
