Intro
I ordered a kids’ meal on my flight, just to see what it was like.
I flew with LOT from Istanbul to Hamburg, connecting in Warsaw. Both flights were in economy, and I pre-ordered my meals using LOT’s onboard menu system.
What’s Included
Onboard, LOT still gives every economy passenger a free snack and drink, whether you pre-order a meal or not.

On one flight, I got a LOT-branded chocolate wafer bar, and on the other, a redcurrant bun with orange juice. If you pay for a meal, you still get these snacks as well.
You have to pre-order meals 24 to 48 hours before your flight, depending on your route.
The menu changes based on where and when you fly, so what I had might not be available on other flights.
The Sky Bar
Besides the free snacks and pre-ordered meals, there’s also a Sky Bar menu you can buy from during the flight.
The options are listed in a printed catalogue at your seat, with prices in zลoty.
For example, a tapas board with nuts, cheese, and cured meat costs 25 zล (about USD $6.70).
A Lorenz Nic Nac’s snack mix is 10 zล (about USD $2.70), and a tube of Pringles is 14 zล (about USD $3.75). If you buy a Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola Zero with Pringles, the set costs 19 zล (about USD $5.10).

For sweets, you can get Twix, M&M’s, Haribo Travel Parade, or Kinder Joy for 12 zล each (about USD $3.20).
There’s also a hot Sokoลรณw ready meal, either meat or vegetarian, for 27 zล (about USD $7.25), or you can get it with a soda for 35 zล (about USD $9.40).
The most unusual item is a 45 zล set (about USD $12.05): a Haribo Travel Parade pack with a 48-piece COBI x LOT building brick set, perfect for keeping kids busy during the flight.
The drinks menu includes more than just Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero, both at 14 zล (about USD $3.75).
You can also get Red Bull, Kinley tonic water, Hortex tomato juice, Lemon Soda Mojito, and Coconaut coconut water, all for the same price.
The Wider Menu
I only tried two dishes, but the pre-order menu offers much more than just a poke bowl or a kids’ meal.t into categories: Sandwiches/Salads/Wraps, Gourmet Meals served on porcelain, Tapas, Healthy Snacks, Cake and Sparkling Wine, and a dedicated Meal for Kids section.

If you order more than one item, you can choose a “set and save” bundle to get a better deal.
The gourmet options are impressive for economy class. You can get roasted Barberie duck with broad bean mousse and pearl barley salad, a Parisian vegetarian plate with Niรงoise salad and mini รฉclairs, or a gluten-free Japanese meal with salmon sushi and mochi.
The Pre Order Items
I chose the beef poke bowl from the Sandwiches, Salads, and Wraps section, which cost about USD $17.
It came with vermicelli noodles, beef in Korean sauce, crispy cabbage, carrots, cucumber, radish, mango, and roasted black sesame seeds.
The meal was served on a full-sized tray with wooden cutlery, and it tasted fresh and well-balanced.

The kids’ meal cost USD $29, which was more than the poke bowl. I noticed the price difference at first, but once I opened it, I didn’t mind anymore.

The kids’ meal included a chicken sandwich with cherry tomatoes and pepper, a pasta salad with carrots, a side of fruit salad, and a waffle with cream, chocolate sauce, and seasonal fruit.
Honestly, I’d order it again even if I wasn’t travelling with kids.
You keep the box, and it’s built to be reused, a great little souvenir from the flight.
Conclusion
Two sectors, two very different price points, both worth what they cost. The bigger takeaway is the range: this isn’t a single upsell sandwich bolted onto the free bar service; it’s a real menu with gourmet, dietary-specific, kids-focused, and buy-on-board options depending on what you book.
