When Virgin Australia commenced operations in Australia back in 2000 they offered a buy on board program, however since re-branding they introduced a range of free meals and snacks.
My flight with the airline was from Hamilton Island to Melbourne onboard one of their Boeing 737’s.
I was impressed by how genuine, and helpful airline staff are in Australia, I forgot how friendly people are here. Virgin will offer you a snack on most services in Australia, in my opinion, the below isn’t really that generous considering it’s a 3+hr flight, but that’s what the airline has decided to serve.
I ended up purchasing the Tim Tam, it’s been years since I had one, and my travelling companion loved it too. The inflight menu available on Virgin Australia offers noodles, chicken wraps or an egg sandwich, however, I wasn’t able to order these products as they weren’t available.
Virgin has a great product, excellent staff and can complete against the likes of Qantas. Their complimentary inflight meal-offering could offer substantially better food items in my opinion.
