Intro
EVA Air business class from Bangkok to Vienna with Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kits and Jason Wu pyjamas?
Sometimes airlines actually deliver on the luxury promises instead of just charging luxury prices.
EVA’s crew and food game is genuinely impressive.
Inflight Amenities
Stepping onboard, you can tell this is going to be a good flight.
The crew shows warmth and genuine hospitality rather than just going through the motions, and the service feels polished without being stuffy.
Pre-takeoff champagne and designer pyjamas set the tone.
First up: a Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kit and Jason Wu pyjamas that are actually nice quality.
Followed by the inflight menu:
Inflight Service
Service starts with smoked salmon and cream cheese/pistachio tart amuse-bouche.
The crew sets up your tray table with cloth, glassware, and cutlery.
EVA uses Luzerne tableware in business class.
Luzerne is a Singaporean company with over 800 trained artisans, working with names like Daniel Boulud and Hakkasan.
You can tell the difference in quality.
The carrot and coriander soup had vibrant flavours.
For the main course, prawn and smoked duck skewer garden salad arrived with crisp vegetables and fresh greens that complemented the succulent prawns and smoky duck.
The portion was smaller than expected, but the presentation looked so good that it didn’t really matter.
Sometimes quality beats quantity.
Fresh fruit concluded the meal – simple but refreshing and a nice palate cleanser.
After about six hours of sleep, I woke up ready for breakfast. Carrot and fruit juice plus a refresher towel started things off.
The congee with egg cake, steamed greens, and traditional side condiments was the perfect way to end the flight – comfort food done right.
Conclusion
EVA’s business class actually lives up to the marketing.
The service is polished, the food is genuinely good, and the crew goes beyond basic requirements to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the flight.
This is what business class should be – not just bigger seats and free alcohol, but an actual premium experience that justifies the price difference. EVA gets it right.
