Intro
Starlux Airlines is Taiwan’s newest full-service airline, flying from Taipei since 2020, and it has quickly become known for its food, earning a Skytrax 5-Star rating along the way. Every cabin gets a meal you can pre-order online, up to 24 hours before departure (48 hours for round trips to and from Taichung). The menus come from Michelin-rated chefs and Taiwanese restaurants, with route specials ranging from wagyu sukiyaki out of Tokyo to HUTONG Yakiniku out of Taipei.
What To Expect
| Cabin | What You Get | Pre-order |
|---|---|---|
| Business | Menus from Michelin-rated chefs and partner restaurants, with wine, champagne and signature cocktails | Yes, online |
| Premium Economy | Hot meal with a choice of mains | Yes, online |
| Economy | Choice of hot mains with bread, fruit and yoghurt, served on a reusable tray with stainless steel cutlery, plus drinks and snacks later in the flight | Yes, online |
On a recent Starlux Economy flight from Taipei to Singapore on the A350, meal service started about 20 minutes after takeoff.
There were two mains to choose from, seafood penne in a creamy tuna pesto sauce or a HUTONG garlic butter chicken thigh donburi, and either can be pre-ordered online.

The tray came with a bread roll, fresh fruit and yoghurt, served on a reusable tray with stainless steel cutlery instead of plastic, and the crew came round again a few hours later with drinks and a snack pack.
Economy also has a full bar with Johnnie Walker Black Label, vodka, gin, rum and beer, plus a signature Sci-fi Cosmos cocktail.
