Inflight Tip: Thai Airways Restaurant Phuket Airport

Experience this gem of an airport restaurant located at Phuket International airport. Find out what's on the menu with this review.

On a recent trip to Thailand to experience Bangkok Airways and Air Asia, I stumbled across the Thai Airways restaurant in the food court area of the airport. The restaurants which have been running since 1965 are also available at Chiangmai and Chiangrai airports. The space has since had a makeover and you can read about it here.

RESTAURANT LOCATION

After checking in for your flight, find the escalators (or lift) and head up one level where you will find the Thai Airways Restaurant. The restaurant is relatively unknown, people assume it’s an airline lounge and don’t venture in.

THE MENU

The menu offers local and international options such as Stir-fried Phuket yellow fresh noodles as well as cornflakes, croissants, and fresh fruit. Food is well priced, the western breakfast costs US$3.50 and additional menu items are priced similarly.

Some of the cutlery and crockery items do look like they were once used on the airline. The restaurant is before security so ensure that you leave yourself enough time to make it to your departure gate on time.
