Hereโs a snapshot of my recent flights with Thai Airways in economy class, starting with a short trip from Phuket to Bangkok, followed by a longer journey from Bangkok to Zurich.
Before the first flight, I visited the Thai Airways lounge at Phuket Airportโa small space but well-stocked with snacks and drinks.
This review is part of my trip to explore Thai Airways Catering in Bangkok.
PHUKET TO BANGKOK
On the one-hour flight from Phuket to Bangkok, the flight attendants served a cold refreshment and water.
Despite the short duration, I was pleasantly surprised by the meal service, which included a burger and a refreshing salad.
The quality of the food was impressive, comparable to what Bangkok Airways offers on their domestic flights.
BANGKOK TO ZURICH
Departing at 12:50 AM, my flight from Bangkok to Zurich exceeded my expectations.
Just 30 minutes after takeoff, the crew began the inflight service, and within five minutes, I received my meal.
I chose the chicken curry with lemongrass over the Western option, and it did not disappoint.
The meal tray included a side salad, apple cake, and a bread roll.
Twenty minutes later, the crew served tea and coffee, and within 40 minutes, they had efficiently cleared my tray, leaving me very satisfied.
For breakfast, served an hour and 50 minutes before landing, I opted for the Western option.
The eggs were slightly overcooked, but the sausage and hash brown were quite good.
In hindsight, I should have chosen the Thai option, as local dishes tend to be better on Thai Airways flights.
The crew completed the second meal service in about 30 minutes.
Overall, my experience in economy class with Thai Airways was positive.
The food was plentiful and the service met the standard expectations for economy class dining.
